Profile:
I first started archery in 2012 at the age of eight when my grandparents took me and my family to a classic car show in Brightlingsea. At the car show, there was a have a go stand that I had been looking at for a while when my dad caught me and he said “come on let's have a go” at first I refused and kept on refusing until he said “if you do it I’ll do it too” to which I agreed and afterwards he said I came off with the biggest smile on my face he has ever seen and from then on it was a case of getting me on a beginners course and getting me started.
Within my first year of shooting, I competed at a club and county level.
After my first year, I joined the National Talent Development Program which is where my journey really started. This is also where I first started working with my coach Tony Ferguson who I have now been working with me for eight years. I spent three years on TDP then I moved onto the National Age Group to which I spent four years on and now I am currently on Conversion to which I am just starting my second year.
Throughout my time shooting, I have won several junior indoor and outdoor national titles. Many medals at the youth festival most notably winning cadet individual gold in 2021 and defending my mixed team title for three years straight winning gold again in 2021.
I have represented my county at both junior and senior-level and competed for England at a national and commonwealth level, captaining the team three times.
I am very proud to say that whilst I was part of the England team, we never lost a national championship.
My most recent achievement was being selected to shoot at the world youth championships in Wroclaw Poland 2021. I had a brilliant experience in Poland ranking 9th and overall finishing 17th, plus I was in the mixed team for Great Britain as well.
My journey is only just getting started I plan to represent my country at many more European and world championships and is winning medals.
My main goal is to represent my country at the 2024 Olympic games in Paris and many more after that, coming away with medals that will ideally be gold. I also want to shoot at commonwealth games and many more international competitions. However, I not only want to win many medals in archery, but I aim to bring the sport out of the shadows and turn it into a much more acknowledged sport.
