Chris Woodgate
Profile:
‘Chris started archery in 2008 and gradually progressed competitively through the junior age categories with his recurve, representing England in home nations matches in the 2012 and 2013 seasons, and Great Britain in the cadet age category in 2014. He set a number of junior national records and had success at junior national championships, both indoors and outdoors. He regularly represented Surrey while a member of Woking Archery Club.
Switching to compound for a five year ‘break’ from recurve, Chris joined the University of Warwick Archery Club (UWAC), where over the course of four years he picked up 4 team and 2 individual medals across BUCS indoor and outdoor championship events. Making the move back to recurve in late 2019, he picked up another two medals at the 2020 BUCS Indoor Championships; team gold and individual bronze.
Chris is still at Warwick University, studying for a PhD in Theoretical Physics and actively competing for UWAC at regional and national events, as well as acting as PA to younger brother James.
